04 May Year 12 Engineering Education Scheme
Year 12 Engineering students have been involved with the Engineering Education Scheme. It is a scheme that involves Sixth form students, working to solve a real life engineering problem, given by an Engineering Company. Our three groups were tasked with redesigning a car park or converting thermal energy to heat water for Liberty Bridge Aluminium and manufacturing a test rig for Mueller Europe Limited.
For the past 6 months, students have had to develop a design brief, research possible solutions, develop a solution and make a prototype. On Friday 4th May students attended the celebration event where they had to complete a 15 minute presentation to a group of professional Engineers, followed by a 10 minute critique of their project, where they were asked technical questions about their projects.
