25 May Y10 PPE and BTEC Session Schedule, Session 6
In order to give your child practice in completing their exams and to give us a better idea of their current progress, we will be holding a series of Pre-Public Examinations (PPEs), for all Year 10. These exams will run from Monday 18th June to Tuesday 3rd July 2018.
Students have been given an examination timetable, <<Click here>>, so they will know in advance which subjects they will be examined in and when. It is important that students organise their revision well in the lead up to these exams. Furthermore, we would encourage you to be actively involved in helping students manage their time during this busy and often stressful time. The results of these exams will be very useful in helping us to identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses in each subject and, therefore, we ask for your support in making sure they have revised thoroughly and understand the importance of these exams. Your child has access to a number of online revision resources, such as GCSE Pod and Mathswatch.
In general, students will attend as normal. However, there may be one or two occasions where an exam finishes before the end of the day, in which case some students may be allowed to depart early. We will ensure you are aware of days and times if this happens.
In addition, during this examination window, we will be giving students additional sessions to complete BTEC coursework. We have set a strict deadline for all BTEC coursework to be completed by Christmas, so that students have time to focus on online and written examinations. If your child is significantly behind with any coursework, there will be an expectation that they stay in school past the normal finish time until 3:45pm, so that missing work can be completed.
The examination results, with a update on BTEC performance, will be reported to students by the end of the summer term.
Thank you in advance for your support as, clearly, it is only with us working together that your child will achieve their true potential.
