I hope that you and your family are well. On a note of togetherness and community, this Friday, 8th May, marks the 75th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) day, the day that marked the end of fighting in Europe during World War II with the formal conclusion of the war with Germany. Although it was not the official end of the war, it was a day of community celebration and spirit, and an occasion that is commemorated, each year, with a two minute silence at 11.00am and a host of acts of remembrance and community activities.
To that end, we have compiled a series of challenges for our students and their families to undertake, should they wish to. Attached is a PDF document of a range of challenges to suit all ages and abilities. Tutors would be delighted to hear from their students about their participation, and we will send out a selection of the best entries for the challenges via our social media channels.
Now, more than ever, it is good to take a moment to reflect on what is most important to us and who has supported us in our lives, and we hope that you enjoy the challenges; they are not only linked in some way to VE day but, most importantly, depend on collective effort, thought for others and a very healthy dose of human kindness.
