At RSA Academy we seek to build and maintain an accurate understanding of the medical needs of our students. Please use this page to report any new medical needs or medication that your child is taking or any changes to existing needs.
RSA Academy has a duty to ensure arrangements are in place to support pupils with medical conditions. We aim to ensure that all pupils with medical conditions, in terms of both physical and mental health, receive appropriate support to allow them to play a full and active role in school life, remain healthy, have full access to education (including school trips and PE), and achieve their academic potential.
We additionally feel that it is important for parents of pupils with medical conditions feel confident that the school provides effective support for their children’s medical conditions, and that pupils feel safe in the school environment.
Where a medical need is identified, our medical officer – Miss Amy Dixon will review information that we receive and if required, will collaboratively create an ‘Individual Health Care’ Plan with parents. The information in this care plan will be distributed to all staff in the school who will come in to contact with your child.
