The Parent Council exists to represent parents and carers of students at the RSA Academy.
The objectives of the Parent Council are:
to work in partnership with the Academy to create a welcoming environment which is inclusive for all parents and carers;
to promote partnership between the Academy, its students and their parents/carers;
to develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the students of the Academy; and
to identify and represent the views of parents and carers on the education provided by the Academy and other matters affecting the education and welfare of its students.
I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to join us on the Parent Council and attend the Parent Forum events. It is an ideal opportunity to meet other parents, share views and have a real input into what goes on in YOUR Academy. This place of learning belongs to everyone – the teachers, the students and us, the parents.
Many different topics are discussed at Parent Council meetings and these views and ideas are then communicated to the Academy leadership team and also to the Governing Body. The Governing Body has been very complimentary and grateful for the work of the Parent Council and feels it has a real place and role to play in the RSA Academy.
