21 May Next Gen Makers Visit
Next Gen Makers visited 2 classes of Year 10 Product Design students at RSA Academy Tipton on Monday 20th May to raise awareness of the opportunities that exist locally for a career in engineering.
The aim of the sessions was to highlight skills that would be best suited to a career in manufacturing, routes into the sector such as Apprenticeships and the variety of engineering and manufacturing firms in the region that could offer fantastic career opportunities.
Adam Tipper, Owner and Director of Next Gen Makers comments: “Engineering offers such a varied, interesting and rewarding career, yet so little is known of the opportunities available for young people at local firms. It’s vital that we hold sessions like today to inspire more young people to consider a career in engineering, and for them to better understand the opportunities available to them right on their doorstep. It’s also great to be able to share with them the stories of other young people progressing through Apprenticeships and the skills that employers look for, to help prepare them for the world of work”.
