Dear Parents and Carers,
Academy Update 26/3/20
I have been made aware that there are scams online asking parents to enter bank details in order to gain free school meal vouchers. These are not genuine, any free school meal vouchers will come through the school. Please also be extra vigilant about companies offering you access to particular resources for your child whilst they are not at school. Some of these companies are charging for things that will not be needed or may not be provided. I am collating a number of free resources for parents and will provide them for you in the next couple of days. Audible, the audio book service, is currently providing free audio books. This may be a good way to support your children through the coming weeks.
More parents may now be eligible for free school meals as contract may have been finished, or jobs may have ended. There is a banner on the front of our website telling you how to apply online for free school meals. If you are eligible, free school meals continue to be provided during the period of school closure. Currently this is in the form of a supermarket voucher.
Yesterday I told you that learning for PSHE started on Monday. Unfortunately, we are having some trouble getting Tutor Group Teams set up. PSHE check in will instead be at 11.30am on Monday 20th April 2020. Student participation is being logged, and Year Team Leaders will be contacting home for any students who are not completing this work to check that all is well.
Keep safe and look after each other.
