Following this course will give each student an understanding of themselves and others in relation to the world, both past and present. Students need not have studied history prior to starting the course. They will be encouraged to debate historical controversies and make reasoned arguments for their own point of view.
Topics studied include: The Move to Global War, The Cold War and the History of Europe

- Internal assessment 25%: Historical investigation
What can I do next?
Students who successfully complete courses based on these specifications will have a suitable basis for progression to further study in History, or related subjects at university or directly into employment. History at Post 16 is seen as a valuable qualification for a wide range of careers, including law, politics, media and public service.
