If you are interested in taking up a new challenge, meeting new people and learning new skills, why not sign up t
o one of our Adult Learning classes. In January we are bringing a range of different adult courses to the Academy.

Digital Photography
The final programme will be determined by the group however you will have the opportunity to look at the following areas:
- Understand how the camera works
- Develop photography skills
- Develop IT skills through internet research and downloading photographs
- Gain a wider knowledge of photographers and their work
- Create a portfolio of work, focusing on an area of your choice
ITQ
The ITQ programme is a practical and flexible way of improving your IT skills using popular software packages. It is a recognised qualification which could be helpful when jobseeking. You’ll learn how to:
- Get the best from your computer

Create documents
- Use spread sheets to handle complex data
- Make engaging presentations
- Edit databases
- Communicate through email and the internet
- Work productively and securely
- Troubleshoot IT problems
RSA Academy Volunteer Programme
We are delighted to be able to offer the local community and parents an opportunity to undertake some training to enable you to support students at the RSA Academy. The training will involve 3-4 sessions and will take place in the afternoons. The course will cover:
- Information about the Academy and our ways of working
- Working with children and young people; literacy and numeracy development; coaching and mentoring skills and encouraging positive behaviour
- ICT skills
A taster session has been organised for Tuesday 15th January 2013 at 2.00-3.00pm for you to come and find out more about the course. If you wish to attend please contact us.
Paediatric First Aid
In January 2013 we will be delivering a free Paediatric First Aid Course in partnership with Sandwell Adult and Family Learning. Learners will engage in a variety of practical hands on activities that will help you to understand what to do in an emergency situation. The course will cover 26 elements in adult and child first aid. The course will take place in the evenings from 5.30pm onwards for 2 hours over a 6 week period. Exact times and dates to be confirmed. Please register as soon as possible as places are limited.
