Planning Ahead

September 27, 2012 in Front page news, Parent News by Miss M NORRIS

Year 10 students are now being asked to secure placements for their Work Experience.  The purpose of Work Experience is to help students prepare for the transition from school to work.  It provides a greater understanding of the world of work and its expectations, the chance to learn new skills which are adaptable to both the working environment and the Academy and may help to decide what career paths students may want to pursue after education.  It is therefore imperative that your child participates in the 2 weeks.  Dates for next year are Monday 1st – Friday 12th July 2013.  It is important that students begin to secure placements now as competition between schools is always high at this time of the year.  All placements have to be Health & Safety approved which is why we request forms are returned no later than Friday 16th November 2012.  If your child has not received a letter, a copy is available on the website or via myself in the Administration Office.  All details are explained in the letter but if you have any issues you would like to discuss, please contact me on 0121 556 1351.

Thank you
