Bollywood comes to Tipton!

We have had a very exciting visitor at the Academy during the course of last week. Subhash Gorania, a well-known Bollywood dancer, choreographer and winner of the numerous dance competitions in Mumbai, has been working with our Year 12 IB dancers to prepare for the forthcoming ‘Bollywood 100’ celebrations in Birmingham during June.

A group of Academy students will have a very different experience next week. Instead of coming to the Academy as usual, they will be attending a Latin Summer School at St Michael’s in Rowley Regis. The summer school is sponsored by the Hellenic and Roman Studies Societies and Friends of Classics organisations and has been running for some 30 years. The students will be involved in a number of activities – but they will tell you all about that when they are back in the Academy.

The lucky students are:

Year 8’s - Navrita Sidhu, Neve Ovenden, James Key, Owen Harthill, Amelia Fox, Chanel Segree, Daniel James, Holly Williams, Shane Smith.

Year 9′s – Jessica Perry, Chloe Howells, Daniel Madu, Lucy Jones.

The students will keep diaries and take photos during the week. They will write an article for the website when they come back to the Academy.
