Bollywood comes to Tipton!

We have had a very exciting visitor at the Academy during the course of last week. Subhash Gorania, a well-known Bollywood dancer, choreographer and winner of the numerous dance competitions in Mumbai, has been working with our Year 12 IB dancers to prepare for the forthcoming ‘Bollywood 100’ celebrations in Birmingham during June.

Hospitality Presentation

On Thursday 4^th October the Year 12 and 13 Hospitality students had the privilege of listening to a presentation on The Hospitality Industry from Paul Anderson who is the Chairman of the midlands branch of the Institute of Hospitality, The Institute of Hospitality is the professional body for individual managers and aspiring managers working and studying in the hospitality, leisure and tourism (HLT) industry. Paul covered a whole range of issues to do with the subject and the students particularly enjoyed listening to his stories of his encounters with many of the celebrity chefs he has worked with. The students gave him a tour of the professional kitchen of which he was suitably impressed. He emailed in the afternoon and said: “I found it very enlightening and I’m glad even more so that I was of some use to your fellow students in the field of Hospitality”.
