We have had a very exciting visitor at the Academy during the course of last week. Subhash Gorania, a well-known Bollywood dancer, choreographer and winner of the numerous dance competitions in Mumbai, has been working with our Year 12 IB dancers to prepare for the forthcoming ‘Bollywood 100’ celebrations in Birmingham during June.

Year 13 are preparing to leave and move onto pastures new! They have had to work incredibly hard all year to reach this point. IBDP, IBCC and Vocational students are now completing their courses and many are in exam mode.

The Deutsche Bank debating competition is an annual one that takes place every year. Schools across the country enter the competition in which they are sectioned into regions. As the RSA won the Birmingham Regional Final, we will be representing Birmingham in the National Finals.

We welcomed students from Alexandra High School to the RSA Academy this week for a joint meeting with our own Student Parliament. The students had lunch together and then held a joint meeting during which they shared information about the ways in which students make a positive contribution to school/Academy development through their School Council or Student Parliament. All parents of Year 6 students who will be starting at the Academy in September 2012 should by now have received a letter giving details about the week long summer school taking place at the Academy on 23rd to 28th July.
