26 May A Prize for Enterprise!
On Thursday, 11th May, students from Year 9 undertook the Enterprise Challenge. The brief for the day was ‘My Perfect University.’ The aim of the day was for Year 9 students to start thinking about their future and whether University was a pathway that they might consider.
Students worked in teams to design their ideal campus, what subjects might be studied there, what it should be called and who would be their celebrity ambassador. They were then encouraged to use creative methods to market their University through a You Tube ad and social media campaign. After 8 pitches and much debate a winner was picked! They will be representing the Academy at the finals in September at Wolverhampton University.
The day was delivered by the Rymans National Enterprise Challengeand funded by Aspire to HE at Wolverhampton University, as part of the NCOP project to encourage young people to consider a future at University. We will be working closely with them over the next 3 years to support students at each stage of their school career.
